According to the Point-in-Time Plus survery, there are 6,521 homeless persons in D.C. as of January 2019.
Every being deserves the basic necessities of shelter, nourishment, and warmth. Especially during the winter months. We are aiming to collect 200+ articles of clothing and non-perishable food items to help assist individuals and families this season.
Although our drive will not assist all 6,000+ persons, we hope it will provide a foundation to encourage and grow individuals interests to further the love and giving spirit for those in need.
Help us spread some love and warmth this season.
So Others Might Eat is on a mission to restore hope and dignity one person at a time.
SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital. We meet the immediate daily needs of the people we serve with food, clothing, and healthcare. We help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly, and individuals with mental illness. Each day, SOME is restoring hope and dignity one person at a time. We invite you to join us.
Heaven: The Musical is about spreading hope and joy this holiday season.
You don't have to be religious to engage with Heaven. Playwright - Tony Donaldson Jr., created a piece that explores the uncomfortable conversation of death and creates a life for hope and promise for the living.
The Heaven Clothe & Food Drive is an extension of the conversation. Bringing hope to our DC community.
